SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

MINUTES

The AOS #91 – Mount Desert Island Regional School System School Committee held a special meeting at the Mount Desert Island Regional High School on January 12, 2009 with the following members present:

CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order at 7:50 p.m. 

APPROVAL OF WARRANT ARTICLES FOR BUDGET MEETING

MOVED by Paul Murphy and seconded by Amy Young that the warrant for the AOS Budget Meeting for Mount Desert Island Regional School System presented to this meeting be and is hereby approved and that an AOS budget meeting be and is hereby called for January 21, 2009 for the purpose of voting on the central office budget for the AOS for the 2009-2010 fiscal year.  The motion passed:  15 in favor, 0 opposed

MOVED by Amy Young and seconded by Paul Murphy that the warrant and Notice of Election for the AOS Budget Validation Referendum presented to this meeting be and is hereby approved, and that an AOS budget validation referendum be and is hereby called for Jun 9, 2009 for the purpose of approving the central office budget adopted at the AOS budget meeting for the 2009-2010 fiscal year. 

The motion passed:  15 in favor, 0 opposed

MOVED by Amy Young and seconded by Emily Muise that the form of Notice of Amounts Adopted at Budget Meeting presented to this meeting be and is hereby approved, and that the Superintendent of Schools of the AOS is hereby authorized and directed to complete said Notice by adding the amounts approved by the voters for each expenditure category and the total school budget summary expenditure amount, all in accordance with the AOS budget meeting on January 21, 2009, and to cause copies of said notice, as completed, to be delivered to the municipality of the AOS for posting at the polling places for the June 9, 2009 AOS budget validation referendum.

The motion passed:  15 in favor, 0 opposed

ADJOURNMENT

MOVED by Paul Murphy, seconded by Charles Wray and unanimously voted to adjourn the meeting at 6:58 p.m.
